Objective: The goal of this activity is to encourage the development of pre-reading skills by providing materials for your child to create their own books.
Materials needed:
- Old Wallpaper Books
- Stapler
- Construction Paper or Trying Paper
- Scissors
What To Do:
- Choose pages from a wallpaper book for the front and back.
- Put several pages sandwiched in between.
- Trim off the excess from the sides so that all are equal lengths.
- Staple together.
- Write title on front of cover with permanent marker. Date it and write child’s name.
- Have child draw the inside pictures.
- Place the book on their bookshelf to read and reread.
